High school is a time in life for students to grow and find things they enjoy, whether that be art, sports, or other clubs, there is something for everybody. Students are encouraged to try and explore new things and find something they are passionate about.
After competing on the volleyball team freshman year, Kinsley Miller, 10, decided they wanted a change and switched to trying golf instead.
“I thought [golf] would be a good learning experience and I wanted to try something new,” Miller said.
Golf can be a sport of ups and downs, one hole you can easily shoot a birdie and the very next hole one can find themselves stuck

in a sand trap. The constant changes that come with the sport of golf lead Miller to have unsure expectations for their first season.
“I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I do, I thought I would just get mad but it is actually super fun…as first I was in it for fun but now I actually want to take it competitively,” Miller explained.
After finding their love for golf, Miller decided to set a few goals for the remainder of their season.
“I want to try and break 100 by the end of the season and just have fun playing…then move onto next year,” Miller said.
Miller intends to continue golf in the future, hoping to continue improving. A change in scenery was just what Miller needed, leading them to new friendships and experiences.
