Have you heard the news? Jan 9, the high school released the new Pride Perks system for students to enjoy.

“Pride Perks is a program to promote and reward good behavior. It is based on the P.R.I.D.E acronym that is on the wall in the academic hallway,” said Renee Stallbaumer, math teacher.

You may be wondering, how do I get a Pride Perk? Well, that is up to the teacher to decide if you get one.

“A student can get a Pride Perk from any adult in the building (teacher, para, janitor, administration, etc.) for showing any of the characteristics of P.R.I.D.E. It is up to the adult to decide who gets one and when,” said Stallbaumer.

After receiving a Pride Perk, you can cash them back into the teacher for a prize. Each teacher has their own reward system and different prizes to give to the students. You can also keep them until the end of the quarter and enter the raffle drawing in the office. Some of this quarters prizes include, gift cards and lunch provide for you from Mr. Williams. If none of those interest you, you can always keep your Pride Perks.

“Knowing that I can get a Pride Perk if I do something good just adds to me wanting to do something good. It does not necessarily drive me to do something good but it would be a nice reward,” said Alyssa Sherron, 9.

Showing your Bronco Pride can come with big rewards. Maybe if you show some purpose or respect, you just might get a Pride Perk to go along with it.
