Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War

Infinity War was the movie of all Marvel movies. The first Iron Man, which came out in 2008, started the lead up to this movie, along with about 18 other superhero films over the span of a decade. I believe this movie pulled out all the stops to make way for a new chapter in the Marvel franchise, considering Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans can not continue making movies forever. When I watched the first trailer I was a little concerned about the mixing of all of the characters, especially the Guardians. I was afraid the surplus would be too overwhelming, but Infinity War balanced out everyone perfectly, and the crossover of characters was very entertaining to watch. I also believe Infinity War balanced out fighting scenes with good plot advancement. After “the snap”, I, including the everyone else in the theater, went completely silent watching the destruction caused by Thanos to take place. I felt the so called “deaths” at the end were very emotional, especially one after a specific talk between Peter and Tony (I cried). I’m glad Marvel went the route of ending a movie with such heartbreak. In superhero films, it’s very cliche for the hero to save the city last minute, while killing the villain, but Marvel did away with that. The rise of Thanos and the lack of Avengers opens countless opportunities for Infinity War pt. 2. As I sat through the credits I was in shock to say the least. The plot twists in the last 10 minutes of the movie were something I never saw coming. However, I do feel the destruction and deaths at the end may have felt a little more sincere if a sequel to Spiderman: Homecoming, Black Panther, and a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 were not already confirmed. My personal guess for part two is all the deaths in the last few minutes of the part one movie will be reversed, but some of the main avengers such as Iron Man or Captain America will have to die in order to save everyone else. Overall, I feel this movie deserved all of the hype it received, and I recommend it to anyone, whether they are a Marvel fan or not. 10/10
