“A Star is Born: Movie Review”

Just recently, I saw the movie A Star is Born. The movie follows a girl, Lady Gaga, who is unhappy with her current job, but aspires to be a singer. Soon enough, she crosses paths with a famous musician / songwriter, Bradley Cooper. The story observes their fastly moving, passionate romance and the fall and rise of one another.

This movie is a remake of the unpopular original from 1976 with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. Directed and starring Bradley Cooper, this remake was done the right way. The movie covers themes of falling in love, the dangers of addiction, the powers of an ego, priorities and doing the right thing at the right time. The only negative thing I would say about this film is there might be too much music and the storyline does get drug out pretty far. If you intent on watching it, make sure you have a good two – two and a half hours to spare!

A Star is Born was an insanely real and emotional film for me. It is easy for the audience to relate to. In fact, the whole audience was practically sobbing by the end – including me! Cooper showed his artistic take on the classic Hollywood story of an underdog rising to the top. The film had an amazing soundtrack which enhanced the intimacy in Gaga and Cooper’s relationship throughout the story.

I would highly recommend seeing this movie whether you see it in theatres or wait for it to come out for rent! Even just check out the soundtrack if you have the time. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed! I sure wasn’t. For me, it was worth the time and money I spent.
