Disney Plus is not a Plus

Disney Plus is not a Plus

An epidemic swept across the states this month and no, it is not vaping. As of Nov. 12, Disney Plus is the only online streaming service to offer Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and National Geographic films. Young adults everywhere are transporting themselves to simpler times by connecting with the TV shows that made them. “Wizards of Waverly Place,” “Hannah Montana”- you name it, and they’re watching it. The only downside to Disney Plus is that in addition to your Netflix, Hulu, and Showtime subscriptions, to reap the benefits of the service, you must pay $6.99 per month.

The benefits do not outweigh the negatives of Disney Plus. By investing into this, buyers are admitting that they are willing to pay separate bills each month for something that could be found in one company alone. Paying for a Disney Plus account in addition to your twenty other streaming service accounts is the equivalent of dating two people at once. While it may sound fun, it never seems to work out. Those cheaters have to pay for double the dates and do not have time for both people at once.

It is impossible to enjoy your favorite Netflix show while binge watching ‘Good Luck Charlie’ at the same time. Why pay double the cost for an experience that does not give you double the benefits? Disney Plus does not deserve your money or your time. I say it’s time to stop cheating and get your priorities straight.

As more media and/or cable companies follow Disney’s example, before they know it  consumers will find themselves paying for an insane number of services. It is so important to slow down this madness and encourage buyers to invest their time and money wisely. In other words, before your free trial ends, please consider dropping Disney Plus for the betterment of society.
