Day Seven – Digging Deeper

While Biden’s first few days in office dealt with the key issues that the vast majority of U.S citizens care about, the last day of his first week was spent digging deeper into some issues. He asked the Department of Housing and Urban Development for a review of Trump’s housing policies, the attorney general to not renew any contracts with private prisons, and the Department of Health and Human Services to issue guidelines “describing best practices for advancing cultural competency, language access, and sensitivity towards Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders” in regards to the federal government’s response to COVID-19. Finally, he reasserted his administration’s commitment to their relations with the tribal leadership across America.
