On May 6, Rigby Middle School in Idaho faced a school shooting. A sixth grade girl pulled a gun from her backpack that morning and shot three people before a teacher was able to intervene. The young girl’s motive for the shooting is unknown, and investigations are underway.

Governor Brad Little of Idaho released a statement on the tragic incident, saying “I am praying for the lives and safety of those involved in today’s tragic events. Thank you to our law enforcement agencies and school leaders for their efforts in responding to the incident.” Something as extreme as this shooting will require healing and help from the Rigby community and even the country as well.
