Rungis International Market, the biggest produce market in Paris, caught fire on Sept. 25, 2022. No one was injured but it took 100 police officers and 30 fire engines to get the fire under control. Law enforcement still urges people to stay out of the area due to smoke. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The fire at Rungis International market put over 12,000 people out of jobs. It is the second largest wholesale market in the world. Due to the fire, people in Paris can not run their businesses and feed their families. The market gets foods imported from all over the world and it will take a long time for Paris and the surrounding cities to recover.
