School District Sues Social Media Companies Over Mental Health
A public school district has filed a lawsuit against the tech conglomerates that own social media platforms such as Snapchat, TikTok, Youtube, and more. The lawsuits come as mental health has been on a steep decline in recent years and the district claims that social media is to blame with its marketing to teens.
The Supreme Court will hear the arguments of the Seattle school district in the following months. While this lawsuit will be an uphill battle for the district, a win in court would incite many lawsuits of the same nature. Many other districts all over the nation have already followed suit.
