Alix Kunkle, English Teacher
Alix Kunkle is an English teacher and the Debate and Forensics coach. He taught for three years before coming to Spring Hill.
“I graduated from Greater Latrobe Senior High School in Latrobe, Pa., then attended California University of Pennsylvania, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus in journalism. Then, I went back to school at Kansas State University to earn my teaching certification and work on my Master’s degree.
I taught for two years in the Abilene School District (USD 435). I taught seventh grade English as well as coached Cross Country. I also completed my student-teaching experience at Abilene High School in Abilene, Kansas.
One of the things I have learned the most about in the first semester is everything that it takes to lead a successful Debate and Forensics team. I have been so appreciative of how much I have learned in the first semester and cannot thank my experienced Debate students for how much they have helped me learn throughout the semester.
I’m excited to start the Forensics season and see our Forensics students compete and succeed at the local and state level. I’m also excited to continue to build relationships with my students and also my coworkers and continue to be a part of the Spring Hill family.
I don’t have any major plans that are changing — there are some tweaks that I will be doing to my syllabus and individual lessons, but overall, no, plans are not changing.
