In June, a sewage strip taken in Gaza showed dangerous levels of Polio in the water. Israel had agreed to stop fighting in Gaza for short increments in the month of September to allow up to 64,000 children to receive a Polio vaccine.
Fighting will come to a halt in three, three day phases, by region, ranging from Sept. 1 to Sept. 14. Members of Humus’ organization are welcoming the pause and “are ready to cooperate with international organizations.” Members of Palestinian Ministry are making a push for the vaccination and spreading maps with vaccination sites throughout Gaza.
