On Friday, Sept. 13, the Broncos took on the Tonganoxie Chieftains. In the first half of the game, the Broncos struggled to get past the Chieftains’ defense. After a good talking to by coach, Jason Feeback, at halftime Jordan Miller, quarterback, 11, and the offense went into action.
“I was pretty frustrated with what was going on [in the first half]. Obviously we weren’t scoring like we should have been, and most of that was on me. I tried to keep the spirits up; obviously you are not going to be happy when you aren’t scoring. When we finally started scoring in the second half, [team spirit] started picking back up again,” Miller said.
By the end of the second half, the Broncos came back with a nail-biting victory of four points.
“I am happy with a win. Obviously. I would rather play bad and get a win other than play good and get a loss. We definitely should have beat [Tonganoxie] by a lot more.” Miller said.
The Broncos will play their home-opener Friday, Sept. 20 against the Eudora Cardinals.
