Hurricane Helene is set to make landfall as a category three hurricane, late on Sept. 26. Helena will bring decreasing temperatures and increased rainfall across the United States; this includes Kansas City. Temperatures will drop from high 70s to low 70s in the KC metro. The metro should expect multiple heavy rainstorms over the next week.
Storms are expected to bring flash flooding to the metro. Students should plan accordingly, be cautious driving, wear appropriate clothing, and consider bringing an umbrella. Impacts are in effect over the next week.
