On Monday, Oct. 28, the National Weather Service of Topeka issued a red flag warning to be in effect. The red flag warning in due to high winds and low humidity, with dry conditions that would fuel fires. Due to the gusty winds and record high temperatures fires are more likely in this area.
These parts of NE Kan. are now in critical fire weather conditions. Wind is expect to be up to 15-20 mph from the southwest with gust reaching up to 30 mph. It is recommended to be aware of any possibility of a spark or flame, and be prepared to take action.
