Video production is a six-person class, and although it’s small, it does not lack authenticity.
“My favorite part of video production is the people I’m surrounded with,” Emily Hernandez, 12, said. “They create a good vibe, and I also just love recording videos in general.”
Hernandez explained that they have generally always had a love for taking videos and photos. They have taken two years of video production, and that has been a prominent outlet for them to express their longtime passion for videography.
“I guess when I got my first phone and I got it at a really young age, I was in like fifth grade, so obviously you just want to, like, snap pictures. I was mostly on Snapchat, but then I moved to the camera, and I just took videos and
pictures of everything. I leaned toward taking videos more because I feel like when you take videos, you’re capturing the moment, even more than just a picture that stays still,” Hernandez said.
Through their experience in video production, Hernandez has discovered what they want to do with their life and what their goals are for the future.
“I definitely want to keep doing this for the rest of my life until I retire, so I plan to just go to people’s events, like weddings or quinceañeras, and just take photos and videos and just have that memory saved for them. I want to get better, so it’s just, like, professional and beautifully captured, and so people like it. Videography, photography—that’s what I want to do.”
Hernandez has found a continuously developing passion for videography, and they hope to share their videos and photos with others as a way to capture their irreplaceable memories.
