As of Friday, Nov. 1, the amount of ballots cast in advance was 516,776. This number is far larger than the amount of advance ballots from 2016 and 2020. The Kansas Secretary of State, Scott Schwab, noted that, “at this point in 2020, 42,724 advance ballots had been cast.” In 2016, at the same time, the number was 375, 857. This means that the 2024 election’s advance ballots increased by 40% from the 2016.
This increase in early voting is encouraging for the nation’s future. This means that, even though people may not be able to make it to vote on November 5th, they are still taking initiative and finding another time to do it instead of giving up. More people voting means the leaders of the country will be a better representation of the desires of the general public.
