On Jan. 15, South African officials rescued around 246 people from an abandoned gold mine. Hundreds of miners are said to have been trapped in there for months, and so far 72 have been found dead. Officials are investigating on how this incident could have happened, but reports are blaming the government for not starting a rescue sooner.
With various miners being hurt, their families are more than likely in distraught about what has happened. Anyone at the school could be going through hardships and it is substantial to consider what they are going through and helping them if they are in need.
