Varsity Girls Basketball Attends Top Gun Tournament

On Jan. 28, Jan. 30, and Feb. 1, the varsity girls basketball team will attend a tournament in Wellsville, KS. The tournament is against six other schools around the area including Wellsville, Baldwin, Blue Valley Southwest, Jefferson West, Lansing, and Nemaha Central.

“Last year we were ‘Top Gun’ champions, so we’re hoping to repeat that and be back-to-back champions,” Paige Husa, head girls basketball coach, said. “We have a storied past with [Blue Valley Southwest] and have always had kind of a rivalry.”

Over the upcoming days the girls team will fight for the number one spot at the end of the invitational.

Hi, I’m Mallory! I’m a Junior and this is my first year in SPUB and video production which means I’m a reporter! I have always had a passion for writing ever since I was young. Talking is something that I struggled with growing up and still struggle with occasionally, but writing has always been an outlet for me to express myself and put my thoughts into words.
