Beginning on Jan. 28, the White House has suspended many federal loans and grants while the Trump administration reviews their spending practices. This order has caused both government officials and everyday citizens to be concerned about their access to promised funding. In a press conference aimed at discovering more about the order, press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made her political debut, answering questions on the topic.
This announcement, though it has frightened some Americans about their access to funding and grants, is not yet a great cause for alarm. Not all funding operations were paused, including Medicare and Social Security. Many will hear of it (and events like it) through social media and the grapevine, but the best way to understand it is to research it and draw your own conclusions.
