On Jan. 30, the high school hosted the 5th grade recruitment day. This day allowed 5th graders to see what doing doors doing music in middle school would open up. The high school band, orchestra, and choir students both performed, and showed the 5th graders the fun that you can have doing music in middle and high school.
“We split the kids into four groups and we taught them [I Want It That Way] in two parts,” Andon Mattox, choir student, senior, said. “It [helps] show kids that choir isn’t lame and stupid.”
This day helps prepare 5th grade students for enrolling in classes for 6th grade. Shout out to all the work that these high school students did to help show the 5th graders what fun music can be.
