A large chunk of Kansas and Missouri is under a Winter Storm Watch until 6 p.m. on Feb. 12, under the cooperation of National Weather Service offices across states. Many areas are expected to see over four inches of snow, with some areas expected as much as eight.
Gov. Laura Kelley has issued a state of disaster emergency declaration for the state, allocating more resources to winter weather preparation and service providers. A home emergency kit, including a battery-operated radio, flashlight, blankets, nonperishable food, and water are also advisable.
