On Monday, Feb. 24, Olathe North High School held a school wide walkout to protest immigration sweeps across the nation. The group of students left their classes and traveled less than a mile away to the Johnson County Courthouse. These protests talked about how Homeland Security and ICE agents sweeping schools could impact everybody.
These students were using their voices to try and fight for those whose rights are at risk. This includes a number of immigrants, LGBTQ+ members, and many other people. Staying updated on things that are happening around the world when it doesn’t necessarily affect you is incredibly important. Although it might not affect you directly, it could affect people close to you.
