Over the weekend, Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver, Xavier Worthy, was arrested. They were accused of domestic abuse, with the victim claiming that their neck circulation was cut off. Once the police talked to some witnesses, and Worthy’s attorney argued their case they concluded that Worthy would not be charged, and they were released. After being released, Worthy put a picture on X of them with a new haircut and the caption “New Beginnings”. Tia Jones, the accused victim and Worthy’s fiancee, is now being taken to court because they ripped Worthy’s hair out, and has been proved to abuse Worthy.
Domestic abuse is a very serious charge and should be taken as such. Although police say the claim was “baseless”, it is good that an investigation was ran. It is important that everyone who is or was a victim of domestic abuse to tell someone or report it.
