This week, HOSA used targeted seminar to wrap up their spring service project. This semester, the club decided to put together a drive in order to get donations to create gift bags for nurses in our community in honor of Nurse Appreciation Week. Items such as chapstick, hair ties, snacks, pens, hand lotion, and hand sanitizer were collected and divided into bags. Along with a hand written thank you card, HOSA members also took some extra time to decorate the gift bags with drawings.
“It’s shows the student body to give back to the community, and it shows our school nurses that we really do appreciate everything they do,” Bailey Hawkins, 10, said.
During Nurse Appreciation Week, HOSA members will distribute the gift bags to each of our school nurses in the school district. Service projects like this one are ways students can give back to their community in a fun and thoughtful way.
