Three fifth graders from Grain Valley show any age can help with their community. Landon, Logan, and Oliver decided to raise money for teacher grants, funds given to teachers by nonprofits or government programs. In this case, the grant was provided through the Grain Valley Foundation. Their plan to raise money is by hosting a 5K. The kids had their parents help them plan, decide the location of the race, and how to reach people to advertise their plan. “Our motto is kids helping kids,” Oliver said.
You don’t have to be an upperclassmen to help in your community. From elementary to high school, there is so much change waiting to be created.
