The Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office made an announcement on Wednesday, Sept. 17 that it intends to seek the death penalty for the man who was accused of killing Kansas City, K.S. police officer Hunter Simoncic. It is reported that Dennis Edward Mitchell III has been charged with capital murder, one count of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, and two counts of theft and one count of criminal possession of a weapon.
Despite how under-the-radar the state of Kansas is, there is still local crime present. This serves as another warning to stay safe as violence becomes more frequent throughout the country.
