33 People Killed in Israeli Attacks

Americans protest U.S. funding of Israel. The war, though contained in the Middle East, affects people around the world.

33 people were killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza on the morning of Monday, Sept. 29, and one person was killed in an Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon shortly thereafter. Momentum has grown for the Gaza ceasefire, causing the Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, to become more isolated.

Though the direct conflict is isolated to the Middle East, it is still relevant to all Americans. The conflicting viewpoints on this topic provide an opportunity for citizens to practice using their voice.

Hey! My name is Norah McMains and this is my second year in SPUB. Journalism is something I have always loved to explore, whether that be reading local newspapers/stories or editing anything I can get my hands on. I believe journalism provides everyday people with the voice they need to make a difference, and that is why it is so important to our society. Everyone deserves to be heard, and everyone needs to listen to each other. I am super excited to develop my writing skills and help people understand both sides of a story. Along with SPUB, I am involved in Scholar’s bowl and swim. Outside of school, I love to read, play guitar, and hang out with my friends and family. I am so excited for my second year in SPUB!
