Ty Theurer, Superintendent of Comanche County Public Schools, resigned on Sept. 29 amid allegations of sexual assault and groping. Earlier in the month, they were under investigation after their alleged inappropriate actions as girls golf coach for South Central High School. Theurer, purportedly to have been assisting in a player’s posture, was said to have held the student on the thigh, hips, waist and shoulder.
It is important to keep a watchful eye on those who are in places of power, especially those who are in charge of our education. More importantly, it is pertinent for the community to keep people in leadership positions accountable.
