Today, Wednesday Oct. 8, is the last day to apply for free to Kansas universities. The Kansas Apply Free Days program is a once-a-year opportunity for any Kansas resident who is interested in applying to any of the partnered universities and colleges for an undergraduate degree. From Oct. 6-8, students can apply for free. This is provided by a partnership between the Kansas Board of Regents and several colleges and universities to encourage more people to apply to universities and colleges.
Many people who want to apply to several colleges and universities are hesitant because of the cost to apply, which decreases the amount of people who continue their academic career beyond high school. “Every Kansas resident, regardless of age or income can apply free at any of the seven public universities, 19 community colleges, six technical schools, or 21 private member institutions for free,” said Katie George, counselor.
