Due to the government shutdown, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, SNAP, will be forced to halt their production and distribution of food stamps on Nov. 1. Families will have to find alternatives for support, like local food banks.
One in eight Americans uses food stamps to help keep food on the table for their family. Due to the rising cost of food, and without SNAP benefits, families that need assistance will have to stretch their budgets even tighter.
