It’s May! With the end of the year approaching fast, most people are in the stage of “oh no it’s May, gotta get that grade up because finals are almost here.” This kind of thinking produces more stress, especially with finals well on the way. However, there are multiple ways to reduce stress.

The first, and probably the best, thing to do is to eat healthy. By eating healthy and not skipping meals the students’ bodies are getting the nutrients that they need to run properly. Sleeping also plays a very important part in reducing stress. It is vital to get about 8.5 to 9 hours of sleep every night. As boring and not exciting it is to say that exercise reduces stress, it does. Getting at least two extra hours of exercise a week improves students school performs. Some “me time” is just as important. Find time in that busy schedule to read a book, watch a movie or take a nap. Also, hanging out with some friends can be a good stress reliever which goes hand-in-hand with another stress reliever, finding something that is funny. Laughing is an automatic brightening of students’ moods. Laughing releases endorphins that can boost the immune system. This final stress reliever will sound ridiculous, but meditation is a really good way to relieve stress. Just by sitting on the floor for a few minutes a day, with closed eyes, thinking about a vacation or a special place. This will make students feel more relaxed.
