It all started on June 27th when someone posted an event to “Storm Area 51” on Facebook. It immediately sparked interest and reactions from the public. Soon memes and Tik-Toks were made in spirit of this “raid.” The popularity of “storming area 51” grew more and more to the point where 1.5 million people RSVPed to meet up in Lincoln Count, Nev. on Sept. 20th. 

The idea that Area 51 has aliens and extraterrestrial technology really got the attention of people as well. People who are attending this “event” want to see these “aliens” and take them home for themselves. 

“[Area 51] is an open training range for the U.S. Air Force, and we would discourage anyone from trying to come into the area where we train American armed forces,” said a spokeswoman for The U.S Air Force.

This however, did not make an impact on these determined ET lovers. Over time more and more posts were published of their “plans” and ideas on how to break into Area 51. 

“If we Naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets,” some proposed, referencing the Japanese manga-inspired running style with arms outstretched backwards and heads forward.

“Let’s see them aliens.” The days are counting down till this “raid” and hotels and airplane flights have been booked heavily for this event. This event started as a joke but has lead to something much more serious to some people. The outcome could go down in history or be laid to rest as nothing but a silly plan to gain alien friends.
