Pennsylvania Supreme Court to Review Bill Cosby’s Sentence
In September 2018, comedian Bill Cosby was sentenced to three-to-ten years in prison for multiple counts of aggravated indecent assault. Now two years into his sentence, his lawyers plan to argue that the evidence and testimony presented in his 2018 trial should not have been allowed.
In Cosby’s 2018 trial, where one woman accused him of inappropriate behavior, five other women were allowed to testify at the trial. All of these women spoke of Cosby’s past indecent actions. His defense team is now arguing that those women should not have been allowed to testify. In addition, they are contesting the use of testimony given by Cosby himself in a 2005 sexual battery and defamation lawsuit. The case will be heard on Dec. 1 by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, who will make the final decision.
