Skiers Forced To Adapt

Bridger Mountain Range in Montana is normally a hotspot for those who enjoy skiing and snowboarding during the winter months. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic they have had to adapt (photo courtesy AP News).

Winter is the best time of year for those who live in snowy, mountainous states because that is when the mountains open up for skiing, snowboarding, and other activities. However, with the global pandemic, this ski season is looking a little different. Ski resorts are limiting the number of people allowed onto the ski lifts, and those with lift tickets and season passes have to make reservations for the resort days in advance.

Due to this, ski lovers will do anything they can to get back on the mountains, so backcountry skiing is surging. Although it is a very dangerous sport, many beginners are investing in gear and looking to get educated on the extremes and safety precautions needed. Fortunately, avalanche center services are widely available.
