Former Police Sergeant Targets Daycare

In Uthai Sawan, Thailand, one of the nation’s poorest regions, is in mourning after a daycare was attacked. Of the 36 people involved, 24 were killed in this gun and knife attack, mainly preschoolers. Former police sergeant, Panya Kamrap, was responsible for this catastrophe and later took his life along with his wife’s and son’s as well.

Shootings in Thailand aren’t unheard of but are considered a rare occurrence. This event has brought many families to tears. They left  flowers and stuffed animals next to the daycare. Even Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha and other government representatives stopped to pay their respect to the young lives lost.
