Pakistan Bombing leaves over 100 dead
A suicide bomer carried out Pakistan’s deadliest militant attack in years. The explosion took place in a crowded mosque inside a highly secured police compound in Peshawar. Over 100 have been reported dead and a least 225 injured. Majority of the victims were police officers.
Defense Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif blamed the TTP, the Pakistani Taliban, for the attack. A TTP commander accepted responsibility, but others within the group argued. Adrienne Watson, of the U.S. National Security Council, said the U.S. is ready to give support to Pakistan while they make a recovery. It is important for countries to support each other in heartbreaking times like these.
