Jerry Springer, news anchor and one time mayor, passed away Thursday at the age of 79. Statements say Springer died peacefully after a “brief illness.” Springer was active in politics for many years of his life leading him to television politics. He has his own show, “The Jerry Springer Show,” which allowed him to connect to those across the country through the crazy lives of guests who appeared on his show.

Springer was able to connect with all people on different levels. This is what will make him missed by many. He wanted to reach out to “regular” people who weren’t “born with a silver spoon in your mouth.” Jene Galvin, family spokesperson for the Springer’s, said Jerry had an ability to connect with everyone which was the “heart of his success.”
