Rockies’ Pitcher Released from Hospital Following Skull Fracture
Colorado Rockies pitcher, Ryan Feltner, was hit by a ball off of the bat of Philadelphia’s Nick Castellanos Saturday night. Feltner was hit in the back of the head and immediately fell on his stomach while athletic trainers attempted to evaluate him. Feltner stayed at the Swedish Medical Center and was diagnosed with a concussion and skull fracture.
While Feltner won’t need surgery, injuries like these can be fatal and scary. Fractures like this are not common, but can take months to recover from. Feltner and Rockies’ fans are grateful that the injury was not worse. The Rockies will be looking for someone to fill his starter position this week.
