Writer’s block is something a lot of people go through but is not really discussed about often. Many people might not even know what it is or how it affects you. According to Rebecca Schuman of Slate, writer’s block is common; 70% of students have experienced it or sometimes have it, but 24% of students almost alway have it. Having this mindset of not being able to write or start work can be very challenging for a lot of reasons.
This year I took SPUB as a reporter and I am dealing with writer’s block more frequently than before. Writer’s block doesn’t always come from just not being able to write or do your work but can all start from low motivation and self-doubt. I personally struggle with these things. It could also stimulate from simply just not knowing what to write about. Writer’s block is not really something that can be fixed but there are things that help with it, such as reading or just taking a break and coming back to it. Finding a quiet place without distractions will make writing come a lot easier for some people, like me.
