On Nov. 3 in Lewiston, Maine, 36-year-old Jerry Thibodeau allegedly murdered 40-year-old Anthony Ayotte after a standoff outside of a bar that lasted almost five hours. Detectives believe that the two men knew each other prior to the deadly encounter since Thibodeau dropped Ayotte off at St. Mary’s Hospital at around 7:30 PM. They are very unsure why Thibodeau would do as such, since they are suspected to be the cause of Ayotte’s devastating death.
On Nov. 4, police obtained arrest warrants for the Thibodeau residence, but Thibodeau refused to come outside. It took police several hours to fully convince Thibodeau to exit the home, and it was 10 PM when they finally did. As of right now, according to newscentermaine.com, Thibodeau is being held at the Androscoggin County Jail and is scheduled for an initial court appearance on Monday.
