The eye is one of the most imporant parts of the human body. Although you could live without it, living with both eyes is way more convenient. (Kamil Saitov)

Aaron James is a man that survived a high-voltage electrical accident. Aaron underwent a twenty-one hour surgery to replace not only their eye but half of their face. It’s known that surgeons have been able to successfully transplant coreanas for years. To transplant a full eye though, was yet to be done.

This year on May 27,  Aaron underwent surgery that needed 140 healthcare workers. The doctors said after the long and complicated surgery, they were recovering well. It was said that the donated eye looked normal and Aaron still had eye sight. Although Aaron was the nineteenth person to undergo a face transplant, they were the first to have an eye transplant.

Hi! I’m Ella Crabtree and this is my first year in SPUB. I took Journalism my freshman year but that is my only experience. I’m looking forward to designing some this year and writing more. Journalism matters so we can connect the people in this school, if that's through pictures, quotes, stories it’s all important. When I’m not at school you can find me on the tennis courts, with friends or with my family.
