At what was supposed to be a celebration, 22 people ended up injured and one dead. Two juveniles are currently held in custody. The woman who died was a popular radio DJ, Lisa Lopez-Galvan. They were only 43-years-old when they were killed. More than half of the people shot were under age 16.
This terrible event unfortunately casted a shadow on the exciting news, and over the city. The death of Lopez-Galvan affected many in her community. Many throughout Kansas City have been struck with fear. The Chiefs, NFL, and other NFL teams have released statements supporting Kansas City in the recent events.
