The National Weather Service posted for Kansas City stating that if we hit 28 degrees or colder today, then it would be on track for the average last hard freeze for the season. As of 6 a.m. this was already achieved as the temperature reaches 23 degrees. Over the last several years, the last hard freeze took place after March 27, closer to April.
The offcial start of the spring season for this year landed on March 19, however the weather has taken a turn over the past week. Taking Kansas’ data from previous years, things are on target as the last hard freeze of the season. Spring has finally made it’s arrival and it is in hopes that the weather will start to reflect that.
