With the deadline to submit senior quotes and photos quickly approaching, seniors are reflecting on their high school journey, capturing memories, and sharing words that define who they have become. For many students, these personalized touches offer a way to leave a lasting mark in the yearbook.

Isabella Katzer, 12, chose a quote by Eleanor Roosevelt: “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”
“They say that in the ‘Princess Diaries.’ I think it’s a really important quote to keep in mind as you go through life, and it’s also a childhood quote for me,” Katzer said.
Katzer explained that this quote reflects the most important lesson they learned throughout high school.
“I want people to see me as someone who has grown and matured over time,” Katzer said. “It shows that I have learned that it doesn’t really matter what people think of you all the time, as long as you know what you think it yourself and what God thinks of you.”
For Katzer, leaving a mark in the yearbook is more than just a tradition — it is an opportunity to capture personal growth. Hadley Booze, 12, shared a similar opinion, emphasizing how senior quotes reflect the stories of each student.
“[I like] being able to look at everybody’s senior quote whether I’ve seen it on the internet or Bible verses or movie lines. I just find it super inspirational because everybody’s different,” Booze said. “That truly shows that everybody has their own story, especially from high school, and being able to summarize that in a quote and put it in the yearbook is something that’s going to be there forever.”
Senior photos, Booze added, serve a similar purpose — capturing moments that last a lifetime. Just like senior quotes, they give students a chance to personalize the yearbook while also reflecting their personality and memories.

“I wanted to get my senior photos taken to show my kids one day,” Booze said. “Photos are a memory that is never going to fade away because they’re always there.”
During their session, Booze personalized their experience by incorporating meaningful items, making the photos a true reflection of their life and memories.
“I loved how [the photo session] was personalized for me, and it was very devoted to me,” Booze said. “My photographer allowed me to bring some things that were very memorable to me, so I brought a picture of me and my late grandfather, his hat, and my FFA jacket. Senior pictures are truly meant to show who you are, and that’s just the special thing about them.”
As a student photographer who has shot several senior sessions, Booze shared that they find joy in capturing meaningful moments for others.
“From a photographer’s standpoint, I love freezing moments in time that are going to be cherished forever and hopefully make them as sentimental as mine were because everybody deserves to have that,” Booze said.
For seniors looking to leave their own mark, the deadline to submit senior pictures and quotes for the yearbook is Dec. 1. Don’t miss the chance to share pieces of your high school journey and preserve your memories.
