Getting Outta the Shell

At the Rhode Island Zoo, 16 turtle hatchlings, that look almost quarter sized, have become a worry to conservationist, Lou Perrotti. Eastern Musk Turtles are known for being habitable in swamps and ponds, and when they feel threatened they give off an emitting odor to protect themselves. These Eastern Musk Turtles have started to become confiscated for a recent wildlife outburst.

Reptiles are becoming more commonly sold illegally on the internet, and this is concerning to Perrotti. Many turtles are leaving the United States on a more regular basis. This is becoming a concern. A study shows that over half of 360 living tortoise and turtle species have now become at a risk of extinction.
