Celine Dion Cancels Show After Diagnosed With Neurological Disorder

Celine Dion canceled her performance after recently being diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called stiff person syndrome. Dion mentioned that the disorder gives her spasms that affect her ability to perform. All of the scheduled shows have either been postponed until 2024 or canceled altogether.

Stiff person syndrome causes painful muscle spasms that can be set off by soft touch or loud noises. It also causes emotional distress. Since this is thought to be an autoimmune disease, there is no known cause to how it starts. There is no cure to stiff person syndrome, so doctors focus on managing pain and spasms. Many hope Celine Dion is healthy to perform in her 2024 tour.
