Texas Coach Arrested on Assault Case

The Texas men’s basketball coach, Chris Beard, was arrested on a charge of family violence. It was said by Austin police that he assaulted a family member and when police got to the victim, they seemed to have been choked. He was arrested and booked at 4:18 a.m. His bond has not been poster and jail records haven’t specified if he will have a court appearance.

This has not been the first assault case on the Texas men’s basketball team this year. Previously, freshmen Arterio Morris was arrested for assault of his ex-girlfriend after a break-up. Police said he caused abrasions to the women’s neck. He was given a bond of $3,500 and was able to stay on the team according to Texas officials.
