Coming back from winter break can be hard. Some people love it knowing they only have one more semester until summer, and some dislike it because it is more stressful and packed with activities.

“I like second semester because I feel like there’s an order and you have more stuff to do but it’s easier, and it’s better because it’s so close to being summer,” Ava Crabtree, 11, said.

Winter and spring sports during this time can be hard to maintain along with school, work, clubs, and life outside of all of this. School work can begin piling up with all of this going on.

“Second semester can be hard because teachers expect you to be able to go faster through units even when you really can’t. This causes so much stress for us,” Laura Buter, 10, said.

During second semester final exams come quick, SATs happen and sports start wrapping up. Students start to get tired and not want to work or go to school because summer is so close and exams can be stressful.

“It can be hard because all of the SATs and like final exams are coming up. It can also be easy though because we start to wrap up all the units and notes,” Delaney Palmer, 11, said.

Second semester can be fun and easy being so close to summer and closing off the school year. Some people love it and some hate it.

Maura Fuqua, Staff Writer
Hi! I’m Maura Fuqua and this is my first year in SPUB. I took Journalism last year, and I’m excited to write some more. I have moved around a lot so I have never gotten a chance to stay and help in the yearbook/SPUB. I’m so excited to write and take photos. I have always loved to write and I can go on forever. If you want a photo I probably have it. I am also a dancer on the Dance Team, andI have been dancing for 12 years now. Journalism matters to me because it brings attention to things you might not know. If we didn’t have journalism a lot would go unnoticed. Anyways I’m so excited to be apart of SPUB family and look forward to this year.
