HOSA Week Highlights Students’ Passion for Healthcare Careers

HOSA members show off their HOSA pride during T-Shirt Tuesday, one of the themed days of HOSA Week. The event encourages students to unite through their shared interest in healthcare and leadership.

Students are celebrating HOSA week this week to recognize students involved in the Health Occupations Students of America program. The event encourages future healthcare professionals to connect with their community and explore different medical fields. “It’s a fun way to show what we love about healthcare,” said HOSA member Ella Buchholz, 12. Through spirit days and activities, HOSA members are showcasing their dedication to health science and leadership.

HOSA week connects students’ classroom learning to real-world healthcare experiences. By celebrating future medical professionals, the event inspires students to consider careers in healthcare and highlight the importance of teamwork and service. For many HOSA members, it’s a reminder of why they’re passionate about helping others through medicine.

Hi! My name is Wren Zerr, I’m a sophomore and this is my first year in SPUB! I’m a reporter which means I get to interview people and write stories that highlight student voices. Last year, I took Journalism 1 and really enjoyed  learning how to share stories that help our school stay informed and connected.  I am most excited to meet new people through interviews and to collaborate with our staff.. Journalism matters because it keeps our student body updated, informed, and interested in what’s happening within our school and community. Outside of SPUB, I serve as the  STUCO executive board secretary, and I’m also involved in HOSA, Hype Squad and band. Outside of school, I love traveling,  watching sports, and spending time  with friends and family. I can’t wait to make new memories through SPUB this year!
