A bag of contraband was dropped off by drone at the Lee Correctional Institution on Monday, Dec. 8. The bag, found by South Carolina guards, included steak, crab legs, marijuana, cigarettes, and Old Bay seasoning. The South Carolina Department of Corrections called the bag “Contraband Christmas” via a post on X.
Contraband is an ongoing problem for many prisons across the country. Prison guards are constantly finding and trying to prevent contraband from getting into the prisons. Dropping off contraband to a prison can even lead to being put in jail for ten years.
